This is a post about leaving for college.

This will be my last “this is a post” post on this blog, as I am now moving here

I have too many words for not enough time. Sometimes I feel like it would be easier if I brought a camera everywhere I went and filmed every little detail. But that’s holding on to too much as it is. Not too mention there are some things you can’t do with a DSLR in your hands.

I’m leaving for college today, and my last full day here (yesterday) was about as typical Riverside as any day could be. And my last morning (right now) is just as anti climatic as I didn’t picture it being. I mean I’m sitting in the kitchen blogging, eating eggs, and listening to the Moonrise Kingdom soundtrack.

I’ve still got 19 posts in my drafts, with different poems and stories and “this is a post” posts with opinions and theories of things that essentially don’t matter to anyone but me. I don’t feel like I’ve properly said goodbye and I don’t want to leave Hershey and maybe I’m not ready to leave.

But then I think about how long I’ve waited to go, how I’ve packed since the start of summer (and still haven’t finished) and how as scary as this is, there is going to be a sea of freshmen in my same shoes and how if I really really really want to go make movies, this is a step I’ll have to take (all these crazy emotions stuff)

So peace out Khaki Scouts, see you later alligators, au revoir simone, it’s been real flyovercity.

plush tendrils of your hair dance
lazily along my spine
as i take just one last chance
